COASTAL ROWING
Paignton Amateur Rowing Club is the only British Rowing Coastal Academy in the South West.

Coastal sculling is rowing in wave-resistant shells with two oars per rower, designed for open water, beaches, and rougher conditions.
Based a stones throw away from several beaches, and beautiful coastal waters to explore, Paignton Amateur Rowing Club is perfectly placed for Coastal sculling, be it beach sprints, or endurance rowing

WHAT IS COASTAL ROWING?
Coastal sculling is a style of rowing in specialized, wider, and more stable shells designed to handle open water, waves, and changing conditions along coasts.
-
Endurance races are longer courses, often several kilometers, testing stamina, pacing, and the ability to row efficiently in rough water.
-
Beach sprints are short, fast races starting on the beach, where rowers sprint to their boats, row a short course, and return to the shore, emphasizing explosive power, speed, and agility.
